Dicaprio Bootle was one of three Nebraska football players who signed as a UDFA when the draft concluded. Bootle signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and this is a great fit for him.

After not hearing his name called in the 2021 NFL Draft, Dicaprio Bootle landed with arguably the best team in the NFL. Despite losing the Super Bowl in February, the Chiefs have been a model of consistency for the rest of the NFL and that’s to be expected with Andy Reid as their head coach.

Part of being a winning team means that it’s tougher for guys like Bootle (undrafted free agents) to really make their mark in town but the Chiefs appreciate good play from their special teams unit and that’s where Bootle could shine. He’s also a versatile player and could be someone the Chiefs could slot in their secondary.

Dicaprio Bootle is going from Nebraska football to the NFL and hopes to make some noise with the Chiefs.

Bootle spent four years in Lincoln and totaled 70 tackles, 26 defended passes, and one interception during that time. He was one of the biggest contributors defensively and Husker fans couldn’t be happier to see him get a shot in the NFL.

As I previously mentioned, Bootle was one of three UDFAs from Nebraska. He’s headed to Kansas City, running back Dedrick Mills is going to Detroit, and Jack Stoll hopes to make an impact in Philadelphia. It’s always a joy to see Nebraska alum land on NFL rosters and it’s even more incredible when they go on to make something of themselves in the pros.

Bootle isn’t anywhere close to being an NFL starter but he can start small by helping out on special teams and maybe getting on the field every now and then. If he’s able to stick with Kansas City, he’ll be learning from one of the best defensive coordinators in the game in Steve Spagnuolo, who would love a feisty versatile player like Bootle.

Best of luck to Bootle and here’s to hoping we see him make an impact on NFL Sundays!
