Nebraska football needs to keep finding quarterback prospects because, without a good quarterback, a team probably isn’t going to be very competitive. The Huskers have had a tough time finding a solid quarterback during the Scott Frost era but they’re continuing to try.

The latest news in Nebraska football recruiting is that they’ve made an offer to 2024 quarterback CJ Carr, who has football bloodlines. Carr’s grandfather, Lloyd Carr, used to coach at Michigan, and his father, Jason Carr, was a quarterback for the Wolverines, per Brian Christopherson of 247 Sports.

With Michigan history in his family, it shouldn’t come as a shock that Carr has received an offer from Michigan as well as Michigan State and Central Michigan, per his profile on 247 Sports. Nebraska is the only school not in Michigan to have made an offer to Carr.

Per Christopherson’s article, Carr won’t be biased toward Michigan and will keep other schools in mind. Nebraska has other quarterbacks they’re recruiting, including 2023 quarterback Reese Mooney, who was in attendance for last weekend’s spring game.

Nebraska football continues to be aggressive in adding quarterbacks.

Even though Carr said he’s open to going to other schools, Michigan is probably going to be the favorite. As I mentioned earlier in the article, his grandfather coached there from 1995-2007 and went 122-40 as their head coach. His father was a quarterback there from 1992-1995 but didn’t see much playing time. There’s history in Carr’s family for sure that tips the scale in Michigan’s favor.

Nebraska could certainly use a prospect like Carr to get excited about. The 6’2″, 180-pound quarterback would give them a prospect to look forward to down the road and could hopefully solve their woes at the position.

The Huskers have five prospects on their radar for 2024 and that includes Carr. The others are Mario Buford, Tono Cornell, Daevonn Hall, and DeVaughn Egan, all of whom are names to get excited about if you’re a Huskers fan.

Keep an eye on CJ Carr. Nebraska is being more aggressive and while Carr has ties to Michigan, that doesn’t mean he’s a lock to go to Ann Arbor.
