Nebraska football has made the cut for a lineman out of Michigan.
As Nebraska football begins to set its eyes on the 2022 class, there are a couple prospects that have Nebraska in their top lists. One of those prospects is offensive tackle Ka’marii Landers.
A native of Dearborn, Mich., Landers is the 57th overall offensive tackle in his class, and the 19th overall player in his class from the state of Michigan per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He recently named his top seven, and Nebraska was on that list. In addition, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, and West Virginia were also on that list. According to a report from Brian Christopherson of 247Sports, Landers wants to have a decision for the start of his senior season should the dead period end in April.
What could he bring to the Nebraska football program? Measuring in at six-foot-four, 290 pounds, Landers can do a couple of things well. For one, he is able to run block with great success. His size allows him to clear out the defender, and that would help running backs get into their lanes quickly.
Another thing he does is shift his weight onto his man as soon as the ball is snapped. He doesn’t allow his man to get the upper hand, and instead fully extends to make the block. His quickness and reaction time in doing that is certainly encouraging to see. In that respect, he is ready for big-time college football.
Nebraska football does not have any commitments in their 2022 class. I would not expect them to, and it is encouraging to see them get offers out. Landers would continue the Nebraska trend of building the offensive line. This is something that they should always continue to build on.
I like the players that they have now at the position, but it never hurts to add depth. especially at a position where Nebraska has struggled in the past couple of years. Having more bodies in the lineman room would be a great thing.
It will be interesting to see where he decides to play. I could see him staying in-state, especially with the two offers from the state schools. Nevertheless, Nebraska has had success recruiting the state, with Ru’Quan Buckley the latest player to commit from Michigan. If Nebraska is able to build a pipeline in the state, this would be big. Landing guys like Buckley and Landers would be able to help accomplish this.
