Nebraska football is in another top group.

As you begin looking at the 2022 recruits, remember the name James Monds III. He included Nebraska football in his final 13 teams on Sunday evening.

Monds is the 58th overall corner in the 2022 class, and the 74th overall player in his class from the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Right now, he is predicted to go to Michigan State in the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

If Nebraska were to land him, they would have some stiff in-conference competition. Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Indiana are in his top group. As if that wasn’t competition enough for Nebraska, Clemson is also in his top group.

He had a great junior season for Westwood high, returning two kickoff returns for touchdowns and recording nine pass breakups to go along with an interception.

When I watch his highlights, one thing is very clear to me. He has great vision. You can see it in the way he returns kickoffs, as well as in the way he makes tackles. When it comes to kickoffs, he is able to find the hole and use his speed to burst through it. On defense, he is able to read the play quickly and come up and make a stop. He is a tremendous athlete, and he would benefit Nebraska on either side of the football.

His speed and vision would certainly help out Nebraska football. I could see him being used in several different roles, and that flexibility would certainly be a welcome asset.

Nebraska football has already been on some of the lists for tremendous 2022 recruits, and it seems like they are making it a point to recruit athleticism for this class. When you look at the 2021 class, you will see a similar trend. It seems like Scott Frost and his coaching staff have found what they are looking for in future recruits.

Currently, the 2022 class has no players in it. Nevertheless, I expect that to change soon, as the Huskers have made the top lists on several players in this class. It will be interesting to see who they land and at what positions.
