Nebraska football is continuing to go after tight ends.

It’s been a while couple of weeks, hasn’t it? As Nebraska football continues to recruit for the future, James Carnie’s name is coming up again. The 2021 tight end is part of a trio of tight ends that Nebraska is courting.

Obviously, you’ve heard about the first one, Thomas Fidone. AJ Rollins would be the other. However, Carnie appears to be firmly on the radar of Nebraska football.

What’s interesting here is that Carnie is currently committed to Miami (Ohio). I mentioned Nebraska football could swoop in and get him. It appears to me like Nebraska is being viewed as an attractive destination in Carnie’s mind.

Everybody is waiting for the Fidone domino to fall, that’s the biggest domino of them all. In the meantime, Nebraska is also continuing to explore other options. You’ve heard me talk about Carnie before. He put on a show last month at the Warren Academy Top Prospect Showcase. Coincidentally, Fidone was also there. Now, could the two be reunited again?

Carnie has been in contact with that Nebraska tight ends coach Sean Beckton. He would be a great second option at the position, assuming Nebraska can land Fidone.

Should Nebraska miss out on for down, he would definitely be a strong first option. He may not have the same playmaking ability as Fidone, but he gives Nebraska the explosive tight end that they have been missing for quite a while.

"“Obviously, Thomas (Fidone) is going to make his pick on the 26th, which is exciting. I’m excited for that,” Carnie said. “Who knows, we’ll see there, but obviously Thomas is a great guy and I want him to come to Nebraska. … If he doesn’t come here, I could see something happening, but even if he does, I could see something coming out of it.”“But (Beckton) and I have just been keeping in touch, and he said he wants to pick it up a little bit.”"

It will be interesting to see how the tight end recruits commit following the Fidone decision. Will they wait to commit, or will they commit the day after?. It’s been kind of interesting that Fidone’s recruitment has been so polarizing. Everybody seems to be waiting for him to make his choice.

Next. Fidone could transform offense. dark

Now, the waiting game begins. I would love to see Carnie in Lincoln. Will he join an already talented 2021 class?
