Miller should have a big year for Nebraska football.

When you take a look at the linebacker position for Nebraska football, there is no doubt that it’s loaded. There are a lot of talented newcomers who are ready to make an impact in addition to some veterans who can do so as well.

That’s just the thing, there are a lot of newcomers. With several bodies slotted at the linebacker position, the seniors are definitely going to be given a run for their money this year.

When I think of the linebacker position, I think of those seniors. Collin Miller is definitely one of them. After adjusting to the middle linebacker position last year, he looks to be a stabilizer in 2020.

Miller recorded 67 tackles last season and two forced fumbles. His best game came against Minnesota. In what was a loss for the Nebraska football program, he played well. He recorded 10 tackles.

He also had several stretches where he was successful as well. In addition to his performance against Minnesota, he also had eight tackles the week before against Northwestern, and five tackles against Indiana and Purdue. He began to find his footing at the tail end of last season. Now, he looks to continue his consistent play and be a leader defensively.

I personally have high hopes for him. I had high hopes for him at the beginning of last spring, and he delivered. He played aggressively and passionately. On a defensive unit that was discombobulated at times, he was a mainstay and a beacon of consistency.

Speaking to the adjustments he had to make last season, he noted to Brian Christopherson of 247Sports that he began to pick things up last season. Positional recognition was important for him.

"That curiosity still doesn’t alter in any way that the Huskers need Miller and Honas to be stabilizers while others learn lessons the way these two veterans have through reps on Saturdays in the fall. Miller started every game last year. He was tied for third on the team in tackles with 67, while admittedly there was some trial and error that came along the way. Ruud said recently he can see the added comfort in him playing the position."

Will Honas and Miller will be two key components for the Nebraska football linebacker position next season. In particular, I am interested to see how Miller does. Now a senior, he figures to be a dependable force at the position.
