Nebraska football could be in the hunt for another lineman.

There was a bit of recruiting news for Nebraska football on Wednesday as 2021 three-star offensive tackle Marcus Mbow put the Huskers in his top five.

Mbow is the 80th overall offensive tackle and his class, and the six overall player in his class from the state of Wisconsin per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In addition to Nebraska, he also has offers from Arizona State, Iowa State, Michigan State, and Virginia among others. He is definitely a sought-after prospect, and it was wise of Nebraska to extend an offer his way.

Measuring in at six-foot-six, 285 pounds, he is a force at the tackle position. When I watch his highlights, I see a player that can absolutely dominate his matchups.  As soon as the ball is snapped, he extends his hands. Once that happens, he is able to push his man back and create space.

Not only does he do all of those aforementioned things, he finishes his blocks. He would definitely be a tremendous asset on the Nebraska offensive line.

He is currently being recruited to Nebraska by Greg Austin and Sean Dillon.

Currently, the 2021 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 38th overall nationally and 10th in the Big Ten per the  247Sports Team Rankings. They have a solid group of players that should allow the program to continue to make progress. In particular, the group of lineman is strong in this class. Mbow would add to that.

I absolutely love the emphasis Nebraska football is placing on the line in this class. The line is something that they have needed to get better at over the past couple of seasons, and it appears that they are doing so.

Furthermore, it appears as though Nebraska is appearing on more and more top five lists for prospects. This is certainly encouraging, and it’s nice to see that prospects are at least considering Nebraska as a place to go.

It will be interesting to see if Mbow will commit to the program. Nebraska football could certainly use him, and he would just be yet another strong addition to a class that already has a ton of potential.

light. Must Read. Things program needs for a successful 2020 season

I love the way that the 2021 class is looking. Hopefully, they can add a couple more names to this class that can make a big impact. If they can do that, they will be in good shape not only for right now in terms of recruiting, but for the future as well.
