Playing for Hightower High school, Neville recorded 30 receptions for 276 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers were a little down from his 2018 campaign, where he recorded 17 catches for 215 yards and six touchdowns.
What could he bring to Nebraska football? When I watch his film, it’s extremely evident that he has a tremendous amount of athleticism. He runs his routes very solidly as well. He keeps his eyes on the quarterback and makes sure he has enough space to catch the ball. He is also extremely physical. He is not the fastest wide receiver, but his ability to run routes and make things happen after the catch will certainly serve him well.
Measuring in at six-foot-three, 195 pounds, he is the perfect size for an outside receiver. Using his athleticism and his leaping ability, he makes matchups a nightmare for defenders.
The 2021 class has been rolling for Nebraska lately. Saturday, they picked up a commitment from linebacker Seth Malcolm. Currently, the class is ranked 39th overall, and tends overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
On Twitter, several Nebraska football players were urging him to come to Lincoln. Alante Brown was one Husker who reached out to Neville via Twitter. One thing I have noticed about this particular group of Nebraska football players is that they are extremely active on Twitter in trying to get recruits to commit here. It is certainly great to see, and I hope it continues.
In the meantime, Neville would definitely be a great addition to this Nebraska football class. A class that started out slow is getting impact playmakers.
This is certainly good news as the rest of the Big Ten seems to be moving fast. The more players Nebraska can land, the better. The recruiting strategy for Nebraska is becoming evident, and these types of playmakers should become commonplace in the program very soon.
