Nebraska Football picked up another big commitment on Wednesday.
Wednesday brought some good news for the Nebraska Football program. 2020 three-star running back Sevion Morrison committed to the program. Morrison made the announcement via Twitter earlier in the day.
Morrison is ranked the 45th overall running back in his class, and is the sixth overall player in the state of OklaFhoma per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. In addition to Nebraska, Morrison also received offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado State, and Georgia Tech.

In the 2018 season, he ran hard for Edison. He carried the ball for 2,761 yards and 38 touchdowns. As noted by his 247Sports profile, he earned first-team all-state honors from The Oklahoman as a junior.
With this commitment, the Nebraska Football 2020 recruiting class is trending in the upward direction. After what was a stagnant class for quite a while, this class has regained momentum with this commitment. The class is now ranked 55th overall nationally, and 11th in the Big Ten. Although the class itself didn’t necessarily gain a ton of ground in terms of rankings, there is some definite progress there.
On the Nebraska Football front, Morrison took an official visit on June 21. That was a very busy month for the Nebraska football program in terms of recruiting, and now it looks like their efforts have begun to pay off. He was recruited by running backs coach Ryan Held.
From a recruiting standpoint, this is another big get for Held. He has been responsible for the commitments of Turner Cochran, Wan’Dale Robinson, Maurice Washington, Cam’ron Jones and Jahkeem Green. He is ranked as the fifth overall recruiter in the Big Ten conference per the 247Sports Composite Coach Rankings.
His speed and elusiveness are going to be what makes him such a great addition to the program. In addition, he is able to cut quickly and use his speed to break away from defenders easily. The running back position is one that is a source of strength for Nebraska. Morrison will undoubtedly be able to add to that.
This is a great addition for Nebraska, and it keeps the pipeline of running backs going for the program. They have made it very clear that they want running back to be a position they focus on in recruiting. Not only do they want running backs, they want talented athletes. The addition of Morrison fills both of those needs, and I can’t wait to see what he can do in Lincoln.
