Nebraska Football would be wise to watch his recruitment closely.

A 2020 running back will be coming to Lincoln for a visit soon enough. Three-star running back Sevion Morrison has scheduled his Nebraska visit for June 21. Nebraska Football would be wise to try to land him. He is scheduled to come to town on June 21.

Morrison is the sixth overall player in the state of Oklahoma per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. His offer list is very impressive. In addition to Nebraska, Arkansas, Baylor, Missouri, and Washington have all extended offers his way. It’s interesting to note that head coach Scott Frost was also very active in Morrison’s recruitment, and that can make the difference between whether he comes to Lincoln or whether he chooses a different destination. We have seen the job Frost has done on the recruiting trail to this point, and landing Morrison would just continue that momentum.

More from Husker Corner

Playing for Edison Prep  High School last fall, he rushed the ball for 2,761 yards and 38 touchdowns. That is certainly tremendous production, and Nebraska Football would be able to use his talents and perhaps make him a big part of their offense.

When I watch his film, two things stand out to me. For one, he is tremendously quick with his cuts and is able to evade defenders with ease. Secondly, as soon as he finds some open field, he takes off and the defenses are not able to catch him. He would be able to add immediate quickness and speed to the Nebraska running game, something that it seems the backfield has a lot of at the moment. However, speed is becoming the name of the game in football, so he should be able to fit right in.

Currently, the 2020 Nebraska Football recruiting class is very strong. There is a lot of talent there, despite only having three commits. The offensive side of the football is well taken care of and Morrison would be able to add to that list. Given how strong Nebraska Football has been in recruiting running backs, I could see him coming to Lincoln. He has the type of play style that would fit well with the program, and it seems as though Scott Frost has been looking for playmakers as of late.

Three takeaways from Frost media availability. dark. Next

June 21 should be a big day for both the running back and the program. The best thing about this is that if he were to commit to Nebraska, we wouldn’t have to wait long to potentially see him. He would be on campus next year. I know I am getting a bit ahead of myself. However, this is a situation that could work in the favor of the Cornhuskers sooner rather than later.
