Nebraska Football is bringing  their best to represent the Big Ten.

I can’t believe it’s that time already. The list of players who will attend  Big 10 media days were announced on Monday. The media days themselves will take place on Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19.

Quarterback Adrian Martinez, linebacker Mohamed Barry, and defensive lineman Khalil Davis will be the representatives for the Nebraska Football program. While for some teams it seems as though their best players are not there, that does not seem to be the case for Nebraska. Martinez, Barry, and Davis are all slated to have big seasons this year.

It’s going to be interesting seeing the types of questions the national media will ask the trio. Those who follow Nebraska Football closely already know about the team and what they are bringing to the table in the fall.

However, on a national scale, it would be fair to say that many people do not know too much about Nebraska, and do not have high expectations for them heading into the 2019 season. After all, they went 4-8 last season. Expectations are probably being kept to a minimum.

It has helped that Adrian Martinez has been on the cover of national magazines. It seems like the magazines are the first ones to give Nebraska the credit they deserve. Hopefully, more news outlets will start to realize the type of talent Nebraska has at their disposal. Of course, it all starts with winning and being competitive every Saturday. Only then, people will start to take notice. Especially in a very talented Big 10 Conference, if you do not succeed, you are undoubtedly going to be put at the bottom of the priority list for many fans.

My guess is that Martinez will be asked a fair amount of questions. He seems to be the player that many news outlets are focusing on, and for good reason. He should be a big piece of the success Nebraska is slated to have come the fall. Both Barry and Davis should be key players on the defensive line, and it will be interesting to see what they have to say. Barry is generally more of a quiet leader, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t say much.

dark. Next. Nixon important depth piece for future

In any event, Nebraska Football should definitely be well-represented at the event. I can’t wait to see what transpires, and perhaps more importantly, it means we are one step closer to football.
