This was another big get for Nebraska Football.
Nebraska Football was able to secure a big commitment on Saturday, this time from 2020 four-star tackle Nash Hutmacher. He announced it via Twitter earlier Saturday afternoon.
In high school, he played both sides of the football. Hutmacher is the top guard in South Dakota per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He received a lot of interest from the mid-West part of the country. In addition to Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Missouri, and Oregon all extended him offers. He was recruited by Ryan Held and Tony Tuioti. He took a visit to Lincoln on April 6.

What can he bring to Nebraska Football? As a guard, he is very solid fundamentally. As soon as the ball is snapped, he focuses on staying in front of his man and making sure that he always has the upper hand. He always manages to stay square and he rarely gets beat. These types of traits are awesome for a team that is going to rely a lot on the offensive line not only next year, but in the years to come. That unit in particular needs to focus on keeping the quarterbacks healthy and keeping them upright. If they can do that, it will make for some fun times for everybody.
The 2020 Nebraska Football recruiting class may not have a lot of superstar talent, but they have a lot of players that will be able to help the program right away. The class is ranked 68th nationally and 12th overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports team rankings. The class is headlined by offensive tackle Turner Corcoran with Zavier Betts being the other notable name in the class.
It’s interesting to note that Corcoran played a role in recruiting Hutmacher to the Cornhuskers. Corcoran said a couple weeks ago that he is focused on helping Nebraska Football land as many talented athletes as they can. He specifically mentioned Hutmacher as an athlete he was trying to get to Lincoln. It appears, if he truly had any say in it that is, that he did his job.
This is another huge win for Scott Frost and his coaching staff. Landing a four-star lineman, a position they have seemed to put emphasis on, is certainly a great development. It will be interesting to see how they round out the rest of the class, as several other big names are set to announce their college choices soon.
