The Nebraska Football recruit has been doing his part.

One of the best recruiters for Nebraska Football has not even stepped on the field for the team yet. Offensive lineman Turner Corcoran has been trying to get players to come to Lincoln. They are not just any players either. They are talented players.

His latest target is defensive tackle Nash Hutmacher via Twitter, telling the defensive tackle that he would fit great in Lincoln. Admittedly, I do not know much about Hutmacher at the moment. However, I would certainly welcome any four-star prospect with open arms. It sounds like Corcoran would too. In a radio appearance with the Recruiting Hour Monday, Corcoran has goals to be very involved with Nebraska Football recruiting.

I love his approach with this. He wants to make the team around him better. There is something to be said for that, especially when a lot of athletes are focused on themselves. Corcoran wants to build Nebraska Football into a powerhouse program, and I certainly respect that. He probably already has some idea of what the program is like. If I was a player being recruited by Nebraska and Corcoran was talking to me and saying that Nebraska was the place to be, I would certainly consider his word. He had to have committed to Nebraska Football for a reason.

"“A lot of guys just want to get the commitment out of the way so they can enjoy their senior football season — just of the guys I’ve talked to,” Corcoran said. “I’m constantly texting dudes ‘You’ve got to get up to Nebraska again. Whenever you’re going up let me know so I can see if I can get up on a visit again.’ Just to make the guys feel more at home.”"

It also goes back to building a family type of atmosphere and culture. With Corcoran welcoming recruits with open arms, that certainly helps it. The togetherness of a team often builds great results, and I can sense that Nebraska Football already has a lot of that going forward. Half the battle of team play is meshing  with the players on your team. If teams can develop a closeness, that should be able to build results on and off the field.

Nebraska Football appears to be in great shape moving forward. If Corcoran can do his version of recruiting, they could be in an even better position. Any bit helps, as Nebraska Football looks to return to the glory of years past.
