Moten would be a huge get for Nebraska Football.

Joshuah Moten holds the Nebraska football program in high regard. The four-star defensive back had nothing but nice things to say about the program following his visit this weekend.

That is certainly a good thing to hear. Nebraska football has been scorching hot on the recruiting trail lately, and it doesn’t look like they’re going to simmer down anytime soon. They already have a commitment from three-star cornerback Tamon Lynum and more commitments may be on the way. Moten would certainly be a big get for the program, if nothing else just due to his pedigree.

More from Husker Corner

Moten is the 31st overall cornerback and his class, and the 13th overall player in the state of Missouri per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He doesn’t have a ton of offers on the table, but the ones he does certainly hold a lot of value. In addition to Nebraska, Moten has also been offered by Texas A&M, Arkansas, Penn State, and Baylor.

Playing for the National Christian Academy, Moten had a great year in 2018. He recorded 18 tackles and seven pass breakups in addition to a fumble recovery and four interceptions. Those numbers were a little down from the 2017 season. He performed even better then, recording 36 tackles, three pass breakups, four interceptions, and four tackles for a loss. He also returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown. In any event, his body of work has been very impressive to this point.

He was originally committed to Penn State, but he decommitted on June 13. Since then, the month of June has been a busy time for him. He took an official visit to Texas A&M on June 14, and officially visited Nebraska Football on Friday. He is set to officially announce his commitment on July 2. As he told the Journal star on Sunday, Nebraska football is certainly in the forefront of his mind.

"“Nebraska is one of the top schools for me,” Moten told the Lincoln Journal Star on Sunday."

He would be a great pick up for this program. He can do a little bit of everything. He can tackle, he can snag interceptions, he can force fumbles. There is not much he can’t do. I am happy that he is announcing soon. Nebraska Football would be very lucky to get him, and he would give an immediate boost to their secondary once he arrives in Lincoln. Hopefully, he can have a strong senior season. There is no doubt that his football future is very bright.
