How will the tight ends be used?

The role of the tight ends as it pertains this team is another big concern for me. How will the unit be able to function in this offense? There are a lot of tight ends in the program. I imagine few of them will see playing time. However, the strategy Nebraska decides to employ, particularly in the running game, will tell me a lot about the team moving forward.

Because Nebraska Football has a lot of talent at running back, I would expect them to try to maximize it. If that is the case, will the tight ends be used more as blockers? Alternatively, will they be a key figure in the passing game? The addition of Travis Vokolek is an interesting one. He doesn’t have a lot of statistics on his resume and Jack Stoll is already poised to be the starter. I’m really not sure how adding another tight end would fit in the offense, maybe they will end up being a bigger part of this team that I originally thought.

I would hate to see the talent at the tight end position go to waste. That’s why it is a concern for me. I am intrigued to see how they implement the position in the offense. However, I can also see Nebraska Football using the running backs and wideouts more so than the tight ends. It will be interesting to see how many touches they get over the course of the game.
