Nebraska football just missed out on Dylan Jordan, who chose TCU over the Huskers. So what’s next in the search for pass-rush help?

Over the weekend, Nebraska football hosted Dylan Jordan, the top pass rusher the Huskers were chasing in the 2019 recruiting class and by all accounts, the visit went really well.

Jordan liked the Nebraska football coaching staff, the players and even the scheme. But at the end of the day, it wasn’t enough to sway Jordan, who announced his commitment to TCU Monday afternoon.

After visiting the  Huskers over the weekend, Jordan said that his decision was down to TCU and Nebraska and ultimately, he chose the Horned Frogs. He also said he was shutting down his recruitment a little more than a week before national signing day.

While missing out on Jordan is a blow for Nebraska, there are other options left that can help in terms of the pass rush in 2019 recruiting and the top target left on the Huskers board is probably defensive end Steven Parker, a four-star from Dallas, Texas.

Right now according to 247 sports, the Huskers have about a 25 percent chance of landing Parker, who is predicted to go to Kansas right now. The Jayhawks, who Parker will visit Feb. 1, hold 50 percent of his crystal ball predictions. Nebraska and Texas Tech each hold 25 percent.

Parker may be in Lawrence Friday, he was in Lincoln to visit the Nebraska football program Jan. 11 and with Jordan going to TCU, you can expect Scott Frost and company to ramp up the recruiting efforts with him.

Back in December, Parker de-committed from Texas Tech and while the Red Raiders are still in the running, it looks more likely Parker will end up somewhere else. He also made a visit to Colorado recently, so the Buffaloes are another team in the hunt.

Nebraska football landed some stellar defensive line in 2019 with Ty Robinson and some others, however, it’s been clear the Huskers want another edge rusher and they were hoping Jordan, a late riser, was going to be the guy.

But it wasn’t meant to be and that means Nebraska will turn its attention towards Parker. It won’t be easy to move him off of Kansas, but this is Nebraska we are talking about, a team with much better chance to compete and contend in the Big Ten right away than Kansas has in the Big 12.

We’ll see what happens but if the Huskers can land Parker, it would definitely soften the blow of seeing Jordan pick TCU over Nebraska.
