Nebraska Football: Is Dylan Jordan leaning toward the Huskers?

Nebraska football target Dylan Jordan visited Lincoln this weekend and called it outstanding. But will it be enough for the Huskers to land him over TCU?

A few days ago, Nebraska football missed out on a four-star wide receiver, but Monday, the Huskers will forget all about that if they can land a commitment from outside linebacker Dylan Jordan.

Jordan, who has been rising up recruiting boards about as fast as anyone in recent weeks, visited Nebraska football over the weekend and according to the three-star linebacker from the state of Kansas, the visit went really well.

Following his visit with Nebraska, Husker Corner interacted with Jordan via direct message on Twitter and Jordan had this to say about his visit:

“It was outstanding,” Jordan said. “I really enjoyed getting to know the players! Caleb (Tannor) did a great job hosting.”

Then, when we asked if the visit helped the chances of him committing to Nebraska football, Jordan responded: “No doubt.” He also called Nebraska a special place on his tweet about the visit.

In another interview that Jordan gave with the Omaha-World Herald, he talked about how he would fit into the defensive scheme at Nebraska. During his visit, Jordan said he watched film of Shaquem Griffin, a player that the Huskers feel Jordan compares too.

That’s nothing new, as we here at Husker Corner reported that earlier this month. In that earlier interview with Jordan, he said that defensive coordinator Erik Chinander compared him to the former UCF standout currently in the NFL.

Essentially, the Huskers see him playing opposite of Caleb Tannor on the strong side, which would allow him to play some against the run, in pass coverage and rushing the passer. At TCU, it sounds like Jordan would be more of a nickel linebacker in the pass-happy Big 12.

While it’s hard to tell, if you read between the lines on Jordan, it seems like he prefers the scheme and his role with Nebraska over that of TCU. In our previous interview with him, he also indicated that having a family atmosphere was important to him and what place fits that description better than Nebraska football, especially with Scott Frost at the helm.

Unlike many big-time college football coaches and make no mistake, Frost is one, he’s in it for the long haul with the Huskers. He’s building something special and it seems to be showing with the recent momentum on the recruiting trail.

Jordan told the Omaha-World Herald that his decision between Nebraska and TCU, which will come Monday, was 50-50 right now. But with everything he has said and the fact that it’s closer to his home in Kansas, you have to feel like the Huskers have an advantage.

Of course, in recruiting, what you think doesn’t matter. The only thing that does is what Dylan Jordan decides to do Monday.
