3-star defensive end Brant Banks

As you can see, the line of scrimmage is a big focus for the Nebraska coaching staff and that’s why the Huskers have their irons in a couple of different fires right now. One of those is defensive end Brant Banks, a 2019 recruit that still hasn’t committed.

Banks isn’t a high-ranking kid by any stretch of the imagination, however, he is ranked as the 186th best player in the state of Texas, which is always rich in recruiting.

In the old Big 12 days, Nebraska probably could have landed Banks much easier, since he would get to travel to Texas to play a lot more when the Huskers played teams like Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Baylor on a regular basis. Yet, in 2018 and 2019, NU has one commit from the Lone Star State.

Getting re-established back in Texas would be good and right now, the biggest threat for Banks is Baylor. Yet, the Huskers are still getting more crystal ball predictions and Banks, who should decide in the coming days, looks like he is leaning toward Nebraska, although until the paperwork is in, you just never know.
