JUCO Amare Barno

Another name to watch in the next few days is that of junior college outside linebacker Amare Barno who plays at Butler Community College in Kansas.

It’s not a big secret that Nebraska football is hoping to upgrade its pass rush going into next season and Barno is a guy that could certainly assist in that effort.

At 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, Barno is an athletic outside linebacker that has some pass rush skills, with 4.5 sacks last season. Until recently, Nebraska football was the only big-time school that offered Barno and so his commitment seemed like only a matter of time.

However, things change quickly in recruiting and Barno is taking this weekend to visit Virginia Tech. If the Hokies make an offer, it would offer much stiffer competition than Florida Atlantic, Chattanooga, Marshall or New Mexico, the other schools that have offered Barno up to this point.

Either way, after Barno visits the Hokies, he should make a decision soon and hopefully, like everyone else on this list, he chooses to be a Nebraska football player.
