Palmer has another big night

Not that we didn’t know this before, but James Palmer is a big-time player and he showed us once again Monday night.

While Palmer struggled and scored only 13 points in a loss to Texas Tech last week, he delivered on the road against a Clemson team that finished third in the ACC a year ago. What was most impressive though was just how Palmer scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and helped control the game on both ends.

The senior finished the game with 20 points and made 8-of-14 shots, including 2-of-5 3-pointers. He did turn the ball over four times, however, he also contributed with a block and a steal.

Don’t get me wrong, Palmer was far from the only guy who had a big night. Isaac Copeland had 16 points, six rebounds and three assists and was all over the floor, especially in the second half. Glynn Watson Jr. also continued his stellar season with 12 points.

Nebraska also played fundamentally sound ball. The Huskers turned it over only 10 times and had 13 fouls. Clemson had 11 turnovers and fouled 14 times. The little things made the difference in this one and the Huskers execution in those areas helped it secure a huge 68-66 win.
