The people at the helm of the Nebraska recruiting efforts are doing everything they can to get instate prospects at Omaha Burke to be Huskers.

Never let it be said that the Nebraska football staff isn’t doing all it can to get its targets to Lincoln. The latest Nebraska recruiting move is a billboard strategically placed.

On Monday, Twitter user Cody Wheelock shed some light on just what lengths Scott Frost and company are willing to go. The user took a picture of the billboard, which features the now well-known tagline “Big Red Revival.” It also has the hashtag, “homegrown.”

According to Wheelock, the billboard is placed just blocks away from Omaha Burke. Burke is the school where two of the top Nebraska recruiting targets are playing their final season if high school ball.

One of those recruits, Nick Henrich has already committed to the Huskers. That doesn’t mean he’s signed yet.

For him, the aim is most likely to make sure he stays with the home state team. The other target of the billboard is undoubtedly Chris Hickman. Hickman and Henrich are the number one and number two targets in the state of Nebraska for the 2019 class.

Hickman is expected to have a Husker lean, but he’s certainly taking his time making a choice. The Cornhusker coaches are hoping they can at least stay in the forefront of his mind.

The timing of the billboard is key as well. Omaha Public Schools are back in session on Wednesday. High school upperclassmen will be back in classes on Thursday.

At that point, Hickman and Henrichs’ classmates will undoubtedly be noticing that sign. They’ll also undoubtedly be talking to them about it.

This certainly isn’t the kind of move that is going to totally seal the deal for Nebraska recruiting. It is the kind of move that keeps someone like Hickman thinking about the Cornhuskers on a near daily basis, and that’s not at all bad.
