Nebraska recruiting looks to be inside the Top 25 but likely won’t get too high in 2019 class.

For Nebraska recruiting watchers, it’s always interesting to look and see what kind of movement, if any has come in recent weeks. This is especially true when a new commit has just landed.

On Sunday night, offensive tackle Michael Lynn officially announced he wanted to be a Cornhusker. Rated as a 3-star recruit, it should come as no surprise the Huskers didn’t get a big bump from the addition to the class.

At the same time, the new commitment likely means we aren’t going to be seeing any slippage out of the Top 30 for a while. The 15th commit of the class has the Nebraska football team holding steady as a squad that is likely destined to finish just inside the Top 25, though the Top 20 or 15 is likely out of reach.

Rivals currently has the Huskers ranked 27th in the country. That’s up one spot from the last time we checked in. It’s not a leap, but it’s additional movement in the right direction.

As far as the Big Ten is concerned, the Huskers are ranked seventh, just ahead of Wisconsin. When you factor in average instead of total points, Nebraska is tied with Michigan State at fifth in the conference.

247Sports actually has the Huskers dropping out of the Top 25 in their latest update. Nebraska is now ranked 26th. When looking at the Big Ten, the Big Red has dropped behind Minnesota, from sixth to seventh. It should be pointed out however that the Golden Gophers already have 24 commits.

ESPN has not yet updated its rankings from July, though the service did give the Huskers a big boost last month. On their July 20th report, Nebraska was ranked 40th. 10 days later the Cornhuskers have moved up 11 spots to 29th in the country.
