Nebraska basketball keeps shooting out the offers.

The Nebraska basketball team continued its busy July with yet another offer on Tuesday. This time around the offer went out to a point guard from the city of Detroit in Lorne Bowman.

Bowman is an under-the-radar point guard from the very heart of Michigan Wolverines country. While he has shown some interest towards Michigan, even took an unofficial visit there, he has not gotten a scholarship offer from them.

The Cornhuskers are actually the third team to offer Bowman. So far, he has been getting the most attention from MAC teams. That includes offers from Buffalo and Toledo.

On a normal day, that might be a bit of a warning sign, as he hasn’t yet gotten an offer from another power school. The difference in the situation with Bowman is that the MAC is not a bad basketball conference.

Buffalo and Toledo were actually the two best teams in the Mid-American Conference a season ago. The Bulls went 23-8 last season and the Rockets went 21-10.

This is not a situation where the Cornhuskers are competing with the best of the best just yet, but Bowman does look like one who might be better than he’s currently getting credit for.

Because he’s a member of the 2020 class, there is going to be a bit of time before he’s able to sign on the dotted line. There’s also some time for him to pick up more offers.

This is the kind of situation where the Nebraska basketball team is getting its foot in the door. As the recruiting cycle moves forward and Bowman starts to get more attention, especially from Michigan and Michigan State, Tim Miles is hoping having offered this early is going to pay off tenfold later on. Whether or not he’s right is something we’ll find out later on.
