Matt Slauson is one of those former Nebraska football stars you sometimes forget is still in the NFL. He’s got one of the longest tenures of any former Husker, having played his first season in 2010.

Despite not getting a ton of hoopla, he’s been a starter in the league for his entire career. The only time he hasn’t started is when injuries have kept him from playing at all.

Slauson spent his first three seasons with the New York Jets, where he started every game from 2010 to 2012. He then moved onto the Chicago Bears where he once suffered his first injury that led to him missing all but five games in the 2014 season.

He was back to starting every game in 2015 though he alternated between center and left guard. In 2016 he found himself a new team and a new full-time position.

For the San Diego Chargers he played all 16 games at center, though in 2017 he went back to left guard. He also missed over half the season last year with yet another injury.

This offseason, Slauson signed a new contract with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2018, the former Nebraska football star and his 74 rating in Madden NFL 19 will be trying to keep quarterback Andrew Luck happy and most importantly, healthy.
