Nebraska recruiting followers have been especially excited about Jackson Hannah.

Those who have been following Nebraska recruiting have watched the recruiting class go up and down. While the 2019 group might not be the top of the heap in the rankings, it is bringing in some very talented players.

Jackson Hannah, a linebacker out of Tennessee is one of the top commits of the class despite being just a 3-star in the 247Sports composite ratings. Just how big a talent Hannah is was confirmed by the Tennessean.

That local paper has listed the linebacker as one of the state’s “Dandy Dozen” which is a list of the 12 best players in Tennessee. The paper pointed out that Hannah isn’t someone who didn’t get quite a bit of attention from SEC schools.

Alabama had come calling for one. The linebacker once again made it clear that it was love at first sight when Scott Frost came calling.

“Me and my dad, we’ve been doing the recruitment thing for three years now, since freshman year,” Hannah told the paper. “Nebraska spoke out to me like no other. It came down to what Coach Frost said to me one-on-one.”

Hannah is officially ranked as the 12th best player in the area by the Tennesseean. That’s actually fairly in line with the 247Sports Composite which has him as the 17th best player in the state.

If anything it should make Husker fans feel a little better that the men and women who see these kids up close and personal day after day think he’s better than that.

Tennessee isn’t a talent environment like you’re going to see in Georgia or Florida. It’s also nowhere near bereft of talent.

There has been some bellyaching over the last few weeks about the fact that Nebraska recruiting seems to have focused on 3-star guys rather than 5-star guys. It’s clear from this list that Jackson Hannah really is one of the best in his home state.
