The Nebraska recruiting wins in the last few days has led to the Cornhuskers moving up the list after mainly being near the bottom of the B1G this spring.

The Nebraska recruiting efforts have been ramping up quite a bit in June. Those efforts have also been paying off.

The Nebraska football team had a recent run where they added four bodies to the roster in the coming years. That included four-star quarterback Luke McCaffrey out of Colorado.

Demond Bland came just a few days before that. Linebacker Jackson Hannah a few days after.

All of these additions have started the Cornhuskers moving up the rankings when it comes to total recruiting classes. Because until very recently, the Huskers didn’t have many, they had been pretty low.

Rivals currently has Scott Frost‘s second recruiting class just breaking into the Top 30 at number 29. That ranking isn’t great, but it’s a step in the right direction.

It should be pointed out that the lower ranking still has to do with not having a ton of commits just yet. When looking at the average stars of the players that are now committed to the Cornhuskers, the picture is quite a bit better.

This is especially evident when comparing Nebraska to the rest of the Big Ten. Rivals has the Huskers 8th in the conference, behind even teams like Northwestern and Minnesota.

The big difference there is that Minnesota is averaging just 2.64 stars per commit and Northwestern is sitting at 2.77. Nebraska’s 3.25 per commit is quite a bit higher than both.

When looking at averages, the Huskers are sixth behind Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Indiana and Michigan State. The Hoosiers might surprise being that high, but they’ve done it with three commits.

247Sports has the Cornhuskers listed a bit lower. The Nebraska football team ranks 30th in the nation and 9th in the Big Ten.

Both of those numbers get quite a bit better when you take their average rating into account. Using the rating number, the Cornhuskers are fifth in the conference, behind the usual suspects.

If the Nebraska recruiting efforts can pay off the way they have so far this year, it’s a safe bet the Huskers are going to be placing in the Top 25 once again.
