Nebraska recruiting efforts when it comes to running backs has waned a bit but Breece Hall likes what he sees.

Breece Hall apparently isn’t all that worried about the number of running backs that are already committed to the Nebraska football team. His announcement on Sunday seems to indicate that Nebraska recruiting is still focusing on running backs, even if they aren’t at the top of the wishlist at the moment.

Hall, three-star running back out of Kansas announced his top eight teams on Sunday and the Cornhuskers were included in that list. Interestingly, the favorites are made up almost entirely of Big Ten, Big 12 or former Big 12 teams.

The one outlier is Tennessee who has been SEC all the way. In addition to the Huskers, Hall named Iowa State, TCU, Michigan, Rutgers, Kansas State, Missouri, and the Volunteers on his list.

Being from Kansas, it makes sense that Missouri would make the list. The Tigers are closer to his Wichita home than Missouri is to Tennessee.

247Sports has Hall listed as the fifth best player in the state of Kansas for the 2019 class. He’s also ranked as the 71st best running back overall.

Entering the dead period, Hall has 14 total offers. It appears that he’s taking this quiet time to pare down that list. Cornhusker fans can at least take some measure of pleasure in the fact that Iowa was one of the teams that has offered the running back that didn’t make the list.

It’s a bit of a surprise that Hall hasn’t been getting more attention than he has so far. Playing for Northwest High in Wichita, Hall has been going up against the best of the best in the state. Last year, his first as a starter, he carried for 2,082 yards and 32 touchdowns.

If his 10.4 YPC average wasn’t good enough, he also caught 12 passes for 130 yards and another three touchdowns. It’s not hard to see why Nebraska recruiting has focused on Breece Hall as a target.
