The Nebraska football team has made the list of teams that are expected to be the most improved this season compared to 2017.

It’s that time of year when everyone is putting out their lists of what they expect to see this season. The Nebraska football team has had several representatives on those lists, including some of the best JUCO transfer players in the country.

Earlier this week, Phil Steele released his list of the teams he expects to be the most improved this coming season. The Huskers were not only included on the list, but they were listed as number seven on that list.

Of course, it would be hard not to improve on a 4-8 season. Even with the tough schedule for the 2018 season, it’s hard to fathom the team only winning four games again.

At the same time, no one going into 2017 thought the Cornhuskers were only going to win four games. There were quite a few teams that had surprising poor seasons that Steele expects to have bounce-back years in 2018.

Florida (4-7) and Utah State (6-7) are at the top of the List. They’re followed by North Carolina (3-9), Georgia Southern and Old Dominion.

One of the Huskers’ early-season opponents is on the list as well in Colorado. After the Buffaloes won 10 games in 2016, they went just 5-7 last year.

It would certainly help the Huskers strength of schedule if Colorado could be better next year, as long as Nebraska can still beat them.

The Cornhuskers come in at number seven, just ahead of teams like Louisiana-Monroe, Miami of Ohio and fellow Big Ten team Indiana.

It’s certainly nice to see the Nebraska football team getting some love. At the same time, it’s going to be a pretty big failure if Scott Frost isn’t able to get the team turned around. At least some in the national media believe he’s up to the task.
