If one preseason list can be believed, the Nebraska football team had some very big success in getting talented transfers for the 2018 season.
Scott Frost and the rest of the Nebraska football coaching staff knew they needed to kind of reset the roster. In order to do that they brought in more JUCO transfers than the Cornhuskers have done in the recent past.
The coaching staff didn’t bring just any old junior college transfers. The group went after what they thought was the best of the best.
It appears College Football Focus believes the Huskers got some of the best as well. That group just put out their list of the JUCO players they think are going to have the best seasons in 2018.

Making the first team at running back is Arizona Western transfer Greg Bell. Bell has been in Lincoln since before the Spring Game and he had a good enough performance in that scrimmage to convince people he’s going to be a big-time impact player this season.
The other Arizona Western transfer to make the list is wide receiver Jaron Woodyard. Woodyard made the second team and represents a big sigh of relief for Husker fans.
There was a time when some wondered whether he was ever going to get to campus. Those worries have been put behind us now.
It appears that even though he didn’t get to campus when he was expected to, he’s still expected to put up a hell of a season. His blazing speed is most likely the reason he’s expected to have such a great year.

If there is one Nebraska football player that has been left off the list that probably shouldn’t, it would be Mike Williams. Williams has been here since the spring, he’s showed off quite the development in the weight room. By the end of the year, he could be making a similar list.
