Nebraska recruiting is looking well into the future with an offer to Ethan Downs.

While the Huskers aren’t spending a ton of time going after players that are beyond the 2020 class, there are a couple of people that have been caught in the crosshairs of the Nebraska recruiting efforts.

The Nebraska football coaching staff offered a talented offensive lineman from Oklahoma by the name of Ethan Downs. Downs, is years away from being able to sign on the dotted line but he’s still getting plenty of attention from big schools.

The offer from the Huskers is one of three he has gotten from FBS schools. Even better than FBS, the three offers he’s gotten now are all from Power 5 programs.

The Huskers have certainly been turning over every rock in order to go after prospects. Downs is an athlete who can play on the line, or as 247Sports has him listed, at tight end.

Oklahoma State and Baylor have both offered him as well and it looks like he’s hoping to get an offer from Oklahoma as well. While Veinberg might be someone the Cornhuskers could reel in with enough effort, you’ve got to wonder if Downs could be lured out of his home state of Oklahoma.

One of the reasons Ethan Downs is on the Nebraska recruiting radar is because he won’t be graduating high school until 2021 and he’s already standing at 6-4. He’s a very solidly built 218 pounds as well.

No matter where the Nebraska football team is looking to play him, it appears he’s already got the stature to fit, years ahead of when he will actually be eligible.
