The Nebraska recruiting efforts reached into Helsinki in order to offer offensive tackle Martin Veinberg.

The Nebraska football team isn’t afraid to turn over whatever stone they think they need to in order to have real success when it comes to their Nebraska recruiting coverage.

The Huskers aren’t keeping their efforts focused on the United States. On Saturday, the Cornhuskers made an offer to a very big prospect, literally and figuratively.

Martin Veinberg announced on Twitter he had gotten an offer to play at Nebraska. He plays offensive tackle for the Helsinki Roosters, in Finland.

This particular offer might seem like a stretch at first glance, but it turns out it’s not quite as weird as you might think. The Huskers aren’t the first FBS Power 5 school to reach out to Veinberg.

In addition to the Nebraska football team, Florida and Washington State have both offered the lineman a chance to play for their schools. Temple, Towson and Virginia have also reached out to him.

It makes sense that this young man would be sought after, considering he’s already 320 pounds and stands 6-9. It’s hard to have any idea where the Finland player might be leaning. It’s just interesting that the Nebraska recruiting efforts are now looking all the way into Europe for talent.
