The Nebraska football team has forged a pipeline with Grayson high school.

Ronald Thompkins, should he sign on the dotted line on signing day, will become the third member of the Nebraska football team to come from Grayson high.

The high school has produced some very good players over the last few years. In addition to Thompkins, the Huskers were also recruiting linebacker and current teammate Owen Pappoe.

Unfortunately, Pappoe decided to stay in SEC country. While Thompkins won’t be playing alongside a Pappoe, he will have some good friends and guys he knows well on the Cornhuskers.

Linebacker Breon Dixon, the transfer from Ole Miss attended Grayson before he joined the college game. Mohammed Berry is from there as well.

Dixon and Berry were considered some pretty big draws for Pappoe. At one point that Grayson player tweeted out that he seemed to be considering the Cornhuskers precisely because they were from Grayson.

Thompkins says he committed here because of the relationships he forged with the coaches, but joining two former Grayson players can hurt the newest addition to the Nebraska football 2019 recruiting class. It will be interesting to see if the staff can pull more players for the school in the coming years.
