Nebraska football: 3 things to know about newest Husker Ronald Thompkins
The Nebraska football team supposedly got the best player at the school in Ronald Thompkins.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star‘s Parker Gabriel, Ronald Thompkins was an even better get than Nebraska football fans realize.
Gabriel talked to Grayson’s recruiting coordinator about Thompkins, Kenyatta Watson Sr. Watson ended up telling the Gabriel that Thompkins is the best player on the team.

That has to be a bit of a shock to Husker fans who are indeed aware of Pappoe, who is considered among the best of the best in the state of Georgia. It certainly seems he’s not rated high enough by the recruiting services if that is the case.

247Sports has Thompkins rated as the 42nd best player in Georgia (and the 32nd best athlete in the 2019 class). Owen Pappoe is considered the best inside linebacker in the entire 2019 class and the second best player in the state of Georgia.
Watson has a dog in this hunt as well. Senior’s son is a talented player the Huskers recruited as well. Kenyatta Watson II. is a cornerback for Grayson that committed to the Texas Longhorns earlier this spring.
Junior is considered the 18th best cornerback in the entire class and the 21st best player in the state. For Watson senior to then call Ronald Thompkins the best player on the team is really something else.

It’s possible the fact that the back has the ability to lineup in the backfield or in the slot is the reason the Nebraska football team is considered to have gotten such a steal. We’ll have to see if the Georgia product lives up to the hype.
