The Nebraska football team offered Tony Fair on Friday afternoon and it didn’t take long for the school to become one of his favorites.

Pima Community College defensive tackle Tony Fair has narrowed down his choice of schools to two. The big defender is going to be picking between Indiana and the Huskers according to his official Twitter feed.

Fair is moving pretty fast, which seems to only be good news for the Cornhuskers. Scott Frost and his crew only offered the JUCO product on Friday afternoon.

While the timing might be a coincidence, it seems to be an indication of where Fair is leaning. In general, the prospect has been getting more attention from the Big Ten in recent weeks.

The Hoosiers finally offered the player on April 30. The two offers from an FBS power five schools come after Fair was originally destined for Indiana State, before deciding to head to the Arizona junior college.

While Fair had shown some interest in other schools, the only other FBS program that had issued a scholarship offer was UAB. Despite the Blazers being his first FBS offer, they weren’t able to stay in the mix when the bigger boys came calling.

While on its face, this offer appears to be a shot in the dark, because of his less than impressive offer list, the big man made a name for himself at Pima. In just nine games in his freshman year, he racked up a whopping 98 tackles.

The Cornhuskers could use a player that can be a real run stopper in their defense. Considering he would have three more years to play, this looks like less of a risk than it did at first glance.

Nebraska football fans who are hoping this could be another Suh type defensive tackle are likely going to be a bit disappointed. If there is one thing Tony Fair didn’t do all that well in his first year in college-level football, it was recording sacks.
