The Nebraska football team offered up a couple of new scholarships on Monday. The Huskers also saw one of their top targets gain another suitor.

The Nebraska football coaching staff is coming off a week and a weekend where they doled out one scholarship after another. On Monday, those offers continued to pour out though not at quite the breakneck pace we’ve seen in the past.

Scott Frost and the rest of the Cornhuskers’ staff seems to know exactly what kind of player they want and they’re going after them as often as possible. The new recruits they offered on Monday are going to be hard to reel in, though the staff has already shown they can get the best of the best.

This weekend, the team got its highest-ranked recruit of the 2019 class in Rahmir Johnson. Not only is the four-star running back highly touted, NU also can take pride in the fact that they stole him out from under Rutgers’ nose.

That is the kind of player the Huskers can be quite happy about because it gets one of the best players in New Jersey to Lincoln. That might help the Cornhuskers reopen the gateway to the Garden State.

The Huskers have also been looking to steal one of the top wide receivers in the state of Missouri away from the Tigers. That job is going to be a bit more difficult because Mizzou might not be the biggest rival in that race.

One of the top-ranked players in the 2020 class, the receiver got yet another in what is an ever growing number of offers from FBS and Power 5 schools.
