Nebraska football: Frost disciple, Big Ten, winners in 1st round of NFL draft
No Nebraska football players got draft in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, but one old Scott Frost player did get chosen.
The first round of the 2018 NFL draft has come and gone and as expected, no Nebraska football players were selected. While the Cornhuskers might have had an uneventful night, Scott Frost and the rest of the coaching staff had something to celebrate.
The rest of the Big Ten conference had a pretty nice night as well. Frost and company were able to celebrate the fact that former UCF player Mike Hughes was taken in the first round.
While there were some people who thought Hughes would go a bit easier, he managed to land himself on a very good team. The Minnesota Vikings picked Hughes with the 30th overall pick, just a few before the end of the first round.

Big Ten finds success
When it comes to the Big Ten, there are some who were a bit surprised at just how well the conference did. Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley kicked things off.
Barkley had been talked about as an early draftee and that talk came true when he was selected by the New York Giants.
Two picks later, Ohio State defensive back Denzel Ward was taken by the Cleveland Browns. It was quite a first round for the Browns who got to upgrade their offense and defense in the first four picks.
Ohio State’s bell was rung again when the Cincinnati Bengals chose center Billy Price. The 24th pick of the draft was a bit of a surprise. Wide receiver DJ Moore was selected by the Carolina Panthers.
Moore was buried a bit by the school he attended as Maryland has struggled in recent years. Despite those struggles, Moore pulled down 80 receptions for 1,033 yards and eight touchdowns.

Will Tanner Lee or another Nebraska football player finally go on Friday? It seems unlikely, though another UCF player or member of the Big Ten might be getting selected on Friday night’s draft rounds.
