Former Nebraska football star Randy Gregory is attempting to make one final run at the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys say he’s getting ready to be reinstated.
When it comes to former Nebraska football players who have made a real go in the NFL, the number is limited. That’s why it would be nice to see Randy Gregory finally make the most of his talent.
While Ndamukong Suh is the preeminent defensive player in the NFL who is also a former Husker, Gregory has the talent to be close behind. The problem for Randy has always been his inability to get his stuff straight.
Almost from day one, the former Cornhusker has had problems staying in the league due to drug use. Hopefully those days are behind him.

Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones says Gregory is going to be making a try to get reinstated to the league. Over the course of his indefinite suspension, Randy has been working out in California and has been showing a rather upbeat approach on social media.

The comments from Jones are the first time in a while that the Cowboys have commented on Gregory. That might be a sign the team believes he really is on the way back.
If he can stay healthy and away from the actions that have so-far derailed his career, he could be one of the more feared defensive linemen in the league. He showed a little of that promise back in 2016.
The long road back is far from over for Randy Gregory. Because the NFL is … the NFL there is always a chance they will deny his reinstatement.

At this point, the Dallas Cowboys and any Nebraska football fans that care about Gregory should be hoping he can make it back. Only 25-years-old, there is a chance for a real career still there.
