Former Nebraska football star Ndamukong Suh appears to have lost one of the teams that were chasing him. The team has rescinded its offer.
The free agency sweepstakes soap opera for former Nebraska football star Ndamukong Suh has taken another turn. Just a few days ago, the New York Jets jumped into the fray with what was reported to be the biggest offer the defensive lineman had received.
That report got at least one of Suh’s potential future teammates awfully fired up, telling people that everyone would be looking at the Jets as a team to beat. Now it appears that the Jets have dropped out altogether.
While most of the NFL has been waiting on the defender to pick a team, New York has decided it doesn’t want to wait any longer. NBCSports reports the team CEO might have just had a change of heart.
Jets CEO Christopher Johnson told the media that “our thinking just changed a bit,” about Suh.

The former Cornhusker might not have been really considering the Jets anyway, but it is interesting that the team has made the fact that they have rescinded their offer so public.
It also seems odd that the team just decided to rescind their offer just days after they put it out. One reason that has been hinted at is that the Jets had a deadline and Suh wasn’t willing to give “yes” answer before that deadline expired.

It’s clear that the former Nebraska football star is enjoying visiting and talking to all the teams that are pursuing him. It has to feel like a little bit of poetic justice considering he’s come under fire quite a bit for the way he plays the game. The New York Jets dropping out of the Ndamukong Suh sweepstakes should at least make his decision just a little bit easier.
