The Nebraska football team has made the cut for one of the top prospects in the country.

When Mike Riley was losing football games as the head coach of the Nebraska football team, the refrain by many was that “at least he could recruit.” If the early returns on Scott Frost and company are anything to judge, the new staff is doing just as well in that department.

The Cornhuskers have in fact been doing quite well in the recruiting department over the last few months. This is true even though they haven’t got any commits in the 2019 class from outside the state.

The latest evidence that the “kids are alright” when it comes to recruiting so far is that the Huskers made the top 10 list for Jeffery Carter. Carter, a former Oklahoma commit announced the teams that made the cut on his Twitter account Thursday afternoon.

Carter is a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports who can play wide receiver or cornerback. The recruiting service seems to believe his future is on the defensive side of the ball as he’s the 16h ranked corner in the entire 2019 class.

He’s also the 20th best player in the state of Texas.

247Sports has him in their Top150 players as he’s currently ranked 138th overall.

Those kinds of ratings is why Carter is being pursued by some of the best schools in the country.

Quite a few of those schools also made the cut for the cornerback, making it clear the Cornhuskers’ staff still very much has their work cut out for them.

Along with the Huskers, Carter picked Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, Alabama, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, and USC. With that list of schools still on Jeffery Carter’s radar, it appears it’s still going to be a long road to hoe for the Nebraska football team if they want to haul in this talented cornerback.
