Former Nebraska football star Niles Paul is headed to Florida while a former Dolphin is enjoying being a free agent again.

For two former Nebraska football stars, the NFL Free Agency period has been a interesting adventure. One former Cornhusker receiver has found himself a new home. Another still appears to be looking around.

Niles Paul has spent his entire NFL career with the Washington Redskins. When it became apparent he wouldn’t be returning to the team in 2018 he was noticeably upset.

It appears the former Husker and Omaha native has gotten over his broken heart. On Tuesday, Paul signed a new contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If there was ever a time for someone to sign with the Jags, the season after they made the AFC championship game seems to be that time. Paul seems to be plenty happy with the move, tweeting out a picture of him apparently signing his new contract, while sitting at a table that had a Jaguars helmet prominently displayed.

More from Cornhuskers in the NFL

Interestingly, at the same time that one former Nebraska football star was finding a new team, another began looking. Like Niles Paul, Ndamukong Suh knew he was going to be looking for a new home before he was officially a free-agent.

It appears that now that he’s entirely untethered, he’s enjoying looking around the NFL landscape. At the outset of the rumors that the Miami Dolphins were going to release him, some talking heads linked him to the Seattle Seahawks.

That pairing makes sense since Suh is originally from the Pacific Northwest. The Portland, Oregon native has not yet decided to head back towards his old haunt just yet though.

Most recent rumors have the New Orleans Saints working to free up cap room to sign the former Dolphin and Detroit Lion. Ndamukong Suh has also been linked to the Atlanta Falcons, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Tennesee Titans.
