Nebraska football target Isaiah Rutherford is getting more attention from Power 5 schools.

If the recent offers are any indication, it appears the Nebraska football team and Oklahoma have renewed their rivalry, at least on the recruiting front. On Sunday night, California athlete Isaiah Rutherford announced on his official Twitter that he received an offer from Oklahoma.

The Sooners had previously come after another Husker target in Bryce Benhart last week. Now with the offer to Rutherford, it appears OU and NU are going to be rivals for several different players.

When it comes to the three-star prospect (according to Rivals) Oklahoma and Nebraska are far from the only schools wanting his services. The Sooners are now the 16th team to offer him.

Among the teams that are after the athlete, there are plenty of high powered colleges such as Alabama, Oregon and Notre Dame. It doesn’t appear it’s going to be easy going as 2018 rolls on.

On the offensive side of the ball, Rutherford is a running back that has plenty of speed and hits the hole quick. In his junior year, Isaiah rushed for more than 1,400 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging more than eight yards per carry.

On the defensive side of the ball, the athlete is a very good defensive back who notched two interceptions a season ago.

At the moment it’s not entirely clear what either Oklahoma or the Nebraska football team is looking at him as, though Rivals believes Isaiah Rutherford projects more as a defensive back at the college level.
