The Nebraska football team lost out on one of their targets on Friday. Daniel Carson announced he was committing to the Texas Longhorns.

The Nebraska football team had a heck of a recruiting win on Thursday night. On Friday, the Huskers were reminded they can’t win them all.

Defensive end target Daniel Carson announced on his Twitter account that he had chosen the Texas Longhorns over the Cornhuskers. Carson made the announcement on his birthday.

Perhaps this is going to be the next big thing. The Huskers got the commitment of wide receiver Dominick Watt on his birthday Thursday.

While the Husker coaches know they aren’t going to get all their targets, Carson was one the staff spent some time on. The defensive end visited Lincoln last weekend.

It’s also possible the team doesn’t feel as though it lost out. The team did get a commitment from a defensive lineman earlier this week.

Casey Rogers was the first commit in a week that now has three before the weekend has even arrived. The Huskers were far from the only team to lose out on Carson.

While the Huskers seemed to be a team that was coming on for the Missouri prospect, he had offers from most of the Big 10 and the Big 12. Those teams included Ohio State and Oklahoma.

The defensive end is considered the eighth best player in the Show Me State and the 25th best defensive end in the 2018 recruiting class. Despite the recruiting loss of Daniel Carson, the Nebraska football team appears to be a team on the rise.
