Nebraska Football: Huskers offer pair of highly touted 2019 recruits
The Nebraska football team is working hard to build up its 2019 class with a pair of offers that went out on Wednesday morning.
The Nebraska football team might be smack dab in the middle of recruiting for the 2018 class but that doesn’t mean it’s avoiding 2019.
The Husker staff has actually given out a swath of scholarship offers to members of the 2019 class in the last couple of days. On Wednesday the school offered up at least two more.
Both players are out of Arizona and while one of them, is a bit under the radar, both look to be getting more attention by the day. When it comes to 2019 recruiting, it’s all about getting your foot in the door early.

When it comes to Jake Smith, the Cornhuskers are far from the first team to give him an offer. The four-star prospect has an offer from almost every Power 5 school in the country.
It’s no wonder the athlete is so popular. Smith is just as dangerous as a runner as he is a pass catcher. MaxPreps says Smith ran for over 1,000 yards on more than 9.0 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns.
Smith also had 1,055 receiving yards (32 per catch) and 17 more touchdowns. Those numbers have led to the powerhouse programs to line up.
Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia are just a few of the top schools that are looking for his services. For the moment he’s getting a bit more attention than another Arizona prospect that got a Nebraska offer on Wednesday.

Noa Pola-Gates is stil under the radar of some of the bigger schools, though he’s already got some nice scholarship offers. The safety from Gilbert, Arizona picked up his fifth offer when the Cornhuskers dished on Wednesday.
Alonside Nebraska, Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State and Memphis all offered. It appears that Pola-Gates is going be getting more attention as the years go on. Having five offers, four from Power 5 schools this early in the process is nothing to sneeze at.
The Nebraska football team has been as active with the offers as most have seen them in years. It appears Scott Frost and company aren’t shy about going after players they identify as game changers.
