Lavonte David is just one former Nebraska football stars in the NFL that is showing that you can go from Lincoln to the Pros.

When looking at former Nebraska football players trying to make their name in the NFL, week 16 has quite a few names missing. Guys like Rex Burkhead, who had been growing into his role, are out with injury.

Quincy Enunwa has missed all season after a great 2016. Still, there are enough Huskers that when you look at the box scores of most NFL games, you are likely to find at least one guy who played in Lincoln on Saturdays.

More from Cornhuskers in the NFL

That doesn’t even take the former Husker players who are now coaching up proteges in order to try and succeed. Guys like Carlos Polk and Zac Taylor, who are hoping to get their teams into the playoffs.

When looking around the league, there is a total of 28 former players on NFL rosters. That includes guys that are spending time on the practice squad and those who are missing out on the IR.

The truly surprising thing is how few of them played on the most recent installments of the Nebraska football team. Here’s hoping Scott Frost and company can start the assembly line of Huskers in the Pros going again, because only three from the last draft class are seeing any time at all in the NFL. Check out how everyone did in the second to last week of the regular season as most are just playing out the string.
