Nebraska football: Huskers Commit, target visiting Tennessee
The Nebraska football team is entering the final weekend before the early signing period with two big targets visiting elsewhere.
The Nebraska football team has a rather big visit weekend on tap. While Scott Frost and company will be keeping an eye on those visitors, there are a couple of big targets that are looking elsewhere this weekend.
One of the recruits that is visiting Tennessee this weekend is actually a Husker commit. The other is a running back that the school badly wants. The two visits sort of ramp up what has become an interesting rivalry between two schools who really haven’t had much to do with each other over the years.
The Volunteers and Huskers are in similar situations this year, as both are breaking in a new head coach. While the Cornhuskers are energized that they got the coaching target they had their eyes on all along, Tennessee has had to do some damage control.
It appears that damage control has been fairly effective if you look at the talent giving the Vols a look this weekend. The two big time Husker targets that are visiting don’t include another player NU wants pretty badly that was scheduled to visit the SEC school this weekend.
Jeremy Webb had planned to head to Knoxville, but he ended up changing his plans. No explanation was given, other than he wanted to stay with his family.
Nebraska football fans have no problem with the four-star defensive back not taking the trip. Do they have anything to worry about as far as two JUCO prospects from Arizona Western heading to the deep south over the weekend?
