Nebraska Football’s Chances With Top WR Recruit Takes A Hit
The Nebraska football team has been hard after wide receiver recruit Tyjon Lindsey but it seems their efforts took a bit of a hit this week.
And no, that hit wasn’t the direct hit taken by the arrest of wide receiver’s coach Keith Williams. The Huskers have always had a bit of an uphill climb when it came to winning the services of Lindsey over Ohio State.
The Nebraska football team seemed to have gotten a bit of a boost when the wide receiver prospect visited the school’s Friday Night Lights camp. Now with the revelation that Linsdey is going to be playing his senior year at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman.
There was some hope that Lindsey would be playing this season at Corona (Calif.) Centennial High School but it appears those hopes have been dashed according to the Los Angeles Times. Why might it have been important to the Huskers that the wide receiver recruit not play at his old school?
It just so happens Ohio State quarterback commit Tate Martell also plays at that school. The two players have been very good friends for years, with Lindsey even staying with Martell’s family for several years.
Considering Martell is going to be a Buckeye, it appears Ohio State has a similar situation going on like the Nebraska football team has with wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr and quarterback Tristan Gebbia. Both of those players are very close and they’ve been working hard to bring other Calibraska recruits into the fold.
Even before this announcement, there were plenty who felt as though the recruit was leaning towards Ohio State, though nothing is over just yet. Lindsey is going to be announcing his official decision on Monday, August 22.
