It probably shouldn't surprise anyone that Purdue head coach Ryan Walters had a lot of nice things to say about the Nebraska football team after his squad lost 28-10 on Saturday. After all, he was so impressed with the Huskers that he ended up firing a coach after the loss.

Speaking after the game, Walters had quite a few thoughts about how and why his Boilermakers were handed their third straight loss. Why his squad still hasn't beaten an FBS squad despite feeling like he has enough talent to make noise in the Big Ten.

During his comments, Walters was most effusive about the Nebraska football team. Specifically he said that the pre-snap movement is something that kept his defense off balance all game. Even when Purdue was able to force several blocked field goals.

"Nebraska is very creative offensively. There's a lot of moving parts, pre and post snap," Walters told the assembled media. "For the most part, I thought those guys (Purdue's defense) communicated well. and made some plays."

Nebraska football offense is 'creative'

While Walters did try and claim that his defense adapted to a decent degree, it was clear his offense couldn't solve the Blackshirts.

Purdue's offense managed just 224 total yards including 50 on the ground. Quarterback Hudson Card struggled to much of anything for most of the game and he did allow a late pick-six from John Bullock to secure Nebraska football's first road win in 2024. Purdue responded on Sunday by firing offensive coordinator Graham Harrell to reboot their attack.
