Nebraska football turns up the heat on top Pennsylvania target
The Nebraska football team has been working hard on setting up pipelines all over the country. And one of the states that Matt Rhule has tried to make inroads into before is Pennsylvania. He’s made some effort to steal some of the area’s best players before because it’s an area he knows well. It’s an area he understands and he wants to plumb it for the Huskers’ program.
This week, the Nebraska football team made a significant move by revisiting the Pennsylvania well, this time with the aim of recruiting the talented linebacker, Colsen Gatten. This could be a game-changer for the team.
Gatten is one of the top linebacker targets for the Nebraska football program. He’s also someone who is getting plenty of attention from other power programs.
He has received offers from several prestigious football programs, including Pitt, Penn State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, West Virginia, and Duke. And that means that the Cornhuskers have some serious competition.
Nebraska football doubles down on top Pennsylvania linebacker target
This weekend, the Huskers made sure they understood that Gatten knew he was one of their top targets. The Cornhuskers made sure they needed to make sure that NU wants him to come to Lincoln.
The notion is simple. The coaches are just making sure Gatten knows he’s front of mind. But its also one of those little things that can go a long way in getting a team’s program front and center.
According to On3, Nebraska has at least gotten its foot in the door. Though they have some ground to make up. That site sees Penn State and Notre Dame as the front runners. In third place is Pittsburgh and then the Nebraska football team are pulling up a distant fourth place. But it’s clearly an area where the Cornhuskers are making some inroads.
