The Nebraska football team is expected to bounce back in a big way in 2024. That yet another analyst has offered that conclusion really shouldn't be all that surprising, considering the optimism that's followed the Cornhuskers all offseason.

With Dylan Raiola poised to wake the "sleeping giant" that is Nebraska football, there are more people than usual expecting the Huskers to make some noise. For Fox News analyst, he believes the Cornhuskers will be "much better" in 2024 than they have been for the last decade.

According to AllHuskers, Klatt was talking to a listener on his radio show about five teams that underwhelmed in 2023, but could be very, very good in 2024. Nebraska made his list for several reasons:

"Nebraska is a team that I think could be really good. They were 5-7 a year ago. And you look at those seven losses and I'm telling you, like, it was all quarterback turnovers, almost all of it. They were very competitive — in fact, way more competitive in Matt Rhule's first season than their 5-7 record indicates. They get a little bit better quarterback play and namely just protecting the football, and they're going to be much better."

Nebraska football could be led by Matt Rhule on a bounceback season

Klatt joins several other analysts who believe the Huskers' win total this season is going to be good enough to go bowling.

"He's a builder, speaking of Matt Rhule. He did it at Temple, he did it at Baylor, I believe it's going to work at Nebraska as well. The defense was really good last year, and they bring a lot of players back. Dylan Railoa at quarterback: My biggest question is going to be who's catching the ball. I don't think that they're strong necessarily at the skill positions but that's going to be something that will play out."

One interesting tidbit to Klatt's optimistic take on what Matt Rhule and company are going to do this year is that two other teams on his list of bounceback teams are on Nebraska football's schedule this fall.

Klatt believes both Colorado and USC will be much improved over 2023.
