Nebraska football: Iowa's Cade McNamara destroyed on socials after awful 1st half

The Nebraska football defense had to be licking its chops after watching Iowa's offense in the first half against an FCS opponent.

It's easy to figure out why Nebraska football fans don't like Cade McNamara. He's the starting Iowa quarterback. Husker fans are going to hate anyone in that position.

What's infinitely more funny is that it doesn't appear that Hawkeyes fans really like him. At least they certainly didn't like him in the first half of his game against FCS Illinois State.

The new QB1 for Iowa has given Iowa fans plenty of reason not to trust him, to be fair. He looked so bad in fall camp that there were Hawkeye analysts who were more than a little concerned about what Kirk Ferentz and new offensive coordinator Tim Lester were going to do about the offense once the season really got rolling.

It turns out the Nebraska football rival quarterback has righted the ship (again against an FCS opponent) in the second half, completing all seven of his pass attempts out of the locker room. In the process, it looks like the Hawkeyes will end up soundly beating an Illinois State team that has not shown any ability to move the ball.

Still, Cade McNamara got absolutely roasted during his first half of play on Saturday afternoon.

Iowa's offense looked like Iowa's offense to start the game.

McNamara's stat line was ugly

Blunt but fair

We're so back.

How did Ohio State lose to this guy?

Cade McNamara is just a photographic trick

A Michigan Wolverines quarterback got in on the fun. That is almost certain;y going to make for some interesting storylines later in the year.

With Nebraska football yet to see what it's own quarterback can do, Saturday morning has been spent critiquing what other quarterbacks look like under center. For the record, I had him ranked as one of the worst quarterbacks the Huskers will face this season in my opponent QB power ranking.
